Hello and Welcome to Future Home Geek! I am happy that you have come here for a visit.
A bit about me, and why I am on this blogging journey.
I have been in the industry in one way or another for the past 2 decades. I did start out in the traditional way as any geek that enjoys electronics, taking apart anything I could get my hands on. No electronic device in my house was safe. Took my father’s Tandy 1000 computer apart (sheesh I’m old!), stereos, phones, and many other things. Putting them back together was an adventure as I ended up with extra parts or a mix of 2 items in one! From there I tinkered with car audio installs and electronics in my house and cars. At 18 I worked in a computer shop as their repair tech. That was the day! 56K modem squeals all day long!
After this, a bit of work in the electrical field but ultimately still enjoying the idea of home electronics. I found a Custom Integration company that was hiring! After that, it was all over. I have worked for many different types of companies from large residential projects to small. The same goes for commercial. I have a few years run even working on Large private yachts! That was a lot of fun and a different view of electrical and low voltage for sure.
With all of that in mind, I have helped many positions in companies, including the owner. I have installed my types of systems. Some were great and some, not so much. I have failed and succeeded many times. Through it all, I have learned a lot and enjoy training and educating people as I am able. I am looking forward to having this blog running for that very reason. I want to educate people from my point of view and years of experience. I have also learned from all the years in this industry that there are many different ways to get things accomplished. The end result should always be the same.
With all of that in mind, I am offering you my opinion on a specific product, manufacturers as a whole, and processes as I have experienced them. I am not paid from any of these items groups to speak on their behalf. If you have questions or feel that I have not given enough information, please feel free to contact me and I can assist further. I am here to help you learn a bit or help you finish up a project.
Let the geek out and let's do this!
